Polling
Public opinion polling is a critical component of social research as it provides the basis for both informing new policies and changing existing ones. It is most often a component of program evaluation and an integral part of policy-making, at every level and for any topic. It provides the means for gathering opinions and driving issues by their most powerful informants, the people who they affect.

ARN has conducted many studies informing levy and bond issues, long-range planning studies for parks and libraries, and has administered surveys to tap awareness and effectiveness of public information campaigns fielded by government and non-profit agencies. ARN employs the most rigorous social scientific research methods to systematically assess the opinions of target populations. ARN has polled communities on controversial issues including the environment and urban growth, as well as such sensitive issues as sexually transmitted infection prevention practices.
